The agreed and stated Commitment of the New Life Leadership Team

Including

The "Code of Conduct" for everyone committed to New Life City Church

The following was also adopted by those present at the Vision & Information
night on Thursday 30 April 2009 to apply also to Department Team Leaders
and to Team Members and to all who are committed to New Life City Church

Our Commitment to the Church

• To attend ALL Sunday Services
• To be present at Advance & Breakout
• To support & attend Thursday night FIST meetings (men) and Virtuous Women
• To be the first to set an example in tithing & giving
• To build relationships with people in the church and be available to them
• To give priority to the vision
• To lay aside any personal agenda’s
• To set an example in life style, self control, and respect for others
• To provide Teaching & Worship
• To have a consistent prayer & devotional time
• To set a positive attitude
• To be open, transparent & honest; showing love & respect
• To be committed to personal spiritual growth and Christian maturity
• To promote ongoing positive change in self and in others
• To provide leadership, direction, and encouragement
• To review this commitment on a regular basis

Our Commitment to each other

To trust and respect each other
To pray for each other regularly
To be “servant’s" - not "lord’s”
To sharpen and encourage one another
To be open, transparent and honest with each other
To lay down personal agenda’s
To review this commitment on a regular basis

Exceptions regarding attendance at Church

• When there is a requirement to work by employer
• When ministering elsewhere (to be a maximum of 1 per month as agreed in advance by Jack)
• When there is personal illness
• When there is illness in the family (in the case of a child being ill one of the parents will seek to be present)
• When attending the Elim Conference or similar
• When on holiday

Code of Conduct

1. Organizational Accountability

The Leadership will hold each other accountable to the above agreed and stated commitment by regular review and in an atmosphere of openness, transparency, honesty, love and respect

Each Department Leader will be accountable to the Team Overseer, who will be a member of the New Life Leadership Team, as to commitment, church attendance and attitude.

Each Team member will be accountable to the Team Leader (and when appropriate to the Team Overseer, who will be a member of the New Life Leadership Team) as to commitment, church attendance and attitude.

2. Complaints Procedure

When anyone has a legitimate complaint it should be communicated in a Christian manner for the express purpose of resolving the complaint as follows:

1st: Speak with the person concerned before involving others as instructed by Jesus in Matt. 5:24

2nd: If the situation is not resolved person to person, speak directly to your Team Leader if appropriate or to a member of the New Life Leadership Team. If the situation is still not resolved the Pastor and a member of the Leadership Team will speak with all concerned parties and will make a judgment and provide advice on the way forward. If this is still not accepted an appeal can be made in person to the Leadership Team whose decision will be final.

Under no circumstances should people take their complaints to others either in person or by phone. This will be viewed as gossip and will be responded to in an appropriate manner by the Leadership Team. We will not listen to complaints from anyone who has received information by gossip unless they are prepared to name those who gossiped.

3. Discipline

If anyone who holds a position in church does not adhere to the above commitments and procedures they will be expected to step down. If they fail to do so they will be asked to step down.
