FIST was birthed out of a desire among the men at New
Life to fellowship together on a more regular basis, and also from a
desire to study and share together, so that relationships could be built,
developed and strengthened between ourselves and also with God. We meet
together as a group on the third Thursday of each month for worship
and study, but also get together for various activities arranged throughout
the year such as, camping trips, movie nights, sponsored events, football
and meals out etc...
We all have a hunger to see our group grow and mature
in the things of God so we can be the men we are called to be, striving,
as the apostle Paul puts it, “to work with the energy of the Holy Spirit”.
Our aim is to be Champions for Jesus and to be men of good reputation;
to be faithful men able to demonstrate wisdom and make God’s truth attractive
to others!
We also want to be Champions to the whole church, to our families and
friends and to our community. The feeling among us is that time is short,
so a mindset we’ve developed is simply EVERY DAY MATTERS, especially
in a world where contending for the faith is so difficult at times yet
so vitally important.
The Leader of FIST is Craig Seawright who is supported by a team of
other very capable men.
