Pastor Jack McKee of the New Life City Church will be doing a 40 Day Cross Vigil standing on the dividing line between the Shankill and the Falls. He will stand between the gates in Northumberland Street from 12 noon until 3 pm each day (excluding Sundays) beginning Wed 9 September until Sat 24 October

Pastor Jack did a 40 Day Cross Walk in 2002 around the Shankill & the Falls. His purpose is two fold:

  1. To lift the cross as a symbol of peace between gates that continue to stand as a symbol of division.
  2. To highlight the ongoing work that his church and Stadium Projects have been doing for 20 years this September and to highlight the lack of funding to support this work.

New Life City Church has purchased the large warehouse beside these gates. The 40 Day Cross Vigil will conclude with a Cross Community Concert in this building, which will then be called City LIFE Centre, on Saturday 24 October at 7.30 pm. Special guests will be the Waterford and Omagh Cross Community Peace choir. During that night an opportunity will be given for donations to enable the renovation of the warehouse to City LIFE Centre.
