Cross Vigil
DAY 11: Monday 21 September
People are now getting used to me being between the
gates at the same time each day. Many who pass by do so almost every
day; sometimes several times each day. Let's pray that the witness this
week will be greater than previous weeks.
The first person to meet with me today, although he
got there before I did, was big Alan the bus driver, but without the
bus! Soon after Alan left on time we were joined by Gareth and Mary
Lou from across the wall. I married both of them last year and have
for the past couple of years built an amazing relationship with both
sides of their family. We know we will build on this in the coming months.
We were later joined by Johnny Prentice, New City City
Church Missionary to India who is home on furlough. Johnny stayed for
almost the whole three hours today. Then we were joined by local Elim
Pastor Jim Armour who stayed for almost 2 hours. So there was plenty
of good chat today. Then Laura Cartmill turned up with her dog and after
that we couln't get a word in! Sam, the man with amputated legs stopped
by again. I feel this is definitely touching his life. The last person
to stop was Boneyard who is still angry at the late goal scored by Manchester
United yesterday!
