Cross Vigil

DAY 20: Thursday 1 October

Two milestones in one day! Today we moved from September to October, but it also marked the end of the first half of the 40 Day Cross Vigil. 20 down and 20 more to go!

One woman motorist stopped and asked, "Are you Pastor McKee?" I almost said, "Who do you think I am!" She said she had heard about what I was doing and wanted to come and see for herself! Raymond turned up with some of that "no brand" coffee and "FIVE" Mars Bars!

Tommy and Tracey came along to discuss future plans regarding the upcoming Human Peace Wall and the Peace Pole etc; then Kevin the Muffin Man, Mr Indescribable, came along; and if that wasn't enough Ted stopped by for another marathon talk. They all helped to brighten the day.

As we were all chatting away two men set up a camera opposite and did some filming and then came across the road and did an interview with me. They are from Portugal. Yesterday it was the French; today it was the Portuguese (well done Dale in Texas!). Another man came along. He was a colleague from the past, but a good friend I've not seen for a while. It was good to see him and to encourage him.

Well after a little more of the hand waving it was time to pack up at the end of another day. Tomorrow begins the second half. I wonder what awaits us then. We'll see!
