Cross Vigil
DAY 22: Saturday 3 October
Today was the windiest day so far, but at least it
was dry. It was quite busy in terms of taxis and motorists. I think
we are at the stage where people just know we are there and that they
expect to see the cross between the gates and between 12 noon and 3pm
each day.
It started off busy with visitors. No sooner had we
set up when the first taxi came by and stopped. Out popped a couple
of tourists. They stood next to me with the cross and the driver the
photograph. I gave them a free copy of my book "The Cross and the
Gun", which I am doing for every tourist who stops by.
Mr. Indescribable, the Muffin Man, turned up early
today and soon afterwards Glyn came along with Connor and with Christine
Buel from Williamsburg, Virginia. They brought coffee with them, but
this time instead of it being the "No Brand" stuff it was
"Harrybucks" coffee! Anna then along with her dog that showed
the same in my muffin today as James had done yesterday. Marda and Dorothy
stopped off on their way to do some shopping in downtown Belfast.
Today marked the end of an incredible week. I look
forward to the rest tomorrow, but also look forward to church. Thanks
again for your prayers.
