Cross Vigil
DAY 35: Monday 19 October

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's the local Methodist
Minister, the Rev. Jim Rea, bearing gifts of crisps and chocolate biscuits,
but more than that, he brought a welcome word of encouragement. Then
it was off again, like a modern John Wesley on his horse (powered bike).
Soon after Jim had left we were visited by two other
Methodists; well at least they were from the Forthspring Project in
the Methodist church on the Springfield Road, which is on the other
side of the wall. Jonston and Becky stopped by to wish us well. Becky
had been part of the Human Peace Wall last Saturday. Jonston had been
unable to attend, but we have agreed to get together again to discuss
doing some work together.

Thomas (left) is one of our best and hardest workers.
Johnny Prentice (now Rev. Johnny Prentice) alongside Christine watch
Thomas having a go at the Heckler who had stopped again today. His truck
is on the other side of the gates. Anyway there was more to be done.

An unidentified woman
A woman came walking through the gates, and as she
walked briskly past us she commented that she had seen us on television
at the weekend and wished us well. When I called out to her she stopped
and stood for a while. Colin went to take her photo, but she immediately
recoiled and asked for her photo not to be taken as she did not want
people in East Belfast see her there!!! So the above is the best we
can do!
Workers on the left, but we can't get away from the
heckler on the right!
Yesterday was our last day at Top House where we have
had church for the past three years. After a great day and an evening
celebration several of the guys and girls worked very late to take down
PA and lighting etc to take with us to City Life Centre. A few more
pics below:

The team minus a couple ho had gone just before this
pic was taken. One especially was Jason McCurley who, I am told, worked
extremely hard above the ceiling stripping the cables etc. Thanks to
everyone who stayed behind did what it takes, but there's more to be
done, and so little time to do so!
